Amelia Earhart was an American and she was the first female pilot to fly alone across the Atlantic Ocean.Not only was Amelia a pilot but she also was an author and wrote best selling books about her flying experiences.
In 1937, Amelia attempted to fly around the globe but sadly disappeared over the Pacific Ocean.
